Fire!

Life is never dull chez Nora & Kelly.

Yesterday morning at about 6am, we awoke to the smell of smoke, the faint sound of a fire alarm, and our neighbours knocking on our door to see if we were okay…..

Such is the adventure of living above a restaurant.

Apparently they left a pot of soup on the stove all night which caught fire during the wee hours. By the time we called 911 and got dressed to evacuate, the smoke had increased substantially, and our ability to breathe was affected.

And what did I make sure I brought outside? My purse, and…..my laptop! (must….keep….blogging…..it’s becoming quite addictive!)

An hour, 3 fire trucks, and 2 police cars later, we decided there was a silver lining to this cloud of smoke and used our early arousal from bed as an opportunity to walk down to the lake and watch the sun rise.

Thank goodness we don’t have much left in terms of fine furniture….so not much smoke damage to contend with!

Life is always an adventure……look for the fun and keep rolling with those punches!
