It’s interesting to see that you liked this book. I don’t know if I was just in a bad mood or what, but I was given this book to review and I couldn’t finish it. She really is a “Long Island Princess” so it felt like a feigned helplessness/obsession with creature comforts– but I didn’t get very far, she probably changes and redeems herself! Oh well, I guess I should have kept reading.

I’ve been looking for a few good books lately. As much as I love Bill Bryson (and I do) his alcoholic angsty ways are starting to to become tired and predictable. Maybe a break before reading another of his would be just what’s ordered.
